Old Bears Everywhere

Hermann Spielwarren

In Neufang, a remote German mountain village in Thuringia, very close to Sonneberg - which at that time, happened to be the Toy capital of the World ... Johann Hermann and his family had been busy. Johann and three of his children had been crafting, exceptionally high quality teddy bears, under the name Johann Hermann - Toy Factory. After WWI and the death of Johann, his son Max took up the helm, striking out on his own and changing the companys name to Max Hermann. It is only after WWII that the company once known as Johann Hermann Toy Factory, became Hermann-Spielwaren.
